Singapore's brand new Universal Studios officially opens today, and the theme park is confident that it will draw at least 4.5 million tourists every year through its gates.
Recently locals have been able to visit the park through an evening "sneak peak", which didn't include most rides, at a cheaper ticket price which could even be partially claimed back through food outlets.
But with the full opening of the site, park officials are confident that it will bring in millions of visitors each year.
"We are expecting 4.5 million visitors to Universal Studios alone a year," said a spokesperson for Universal Studios to local paper Channel News Asia.
The integrated resort of Resorts World Sentosa, in which Universal Studios resides, is forecast to welcome some 13 million visitors a year.
